My philosophy

The beauty of age

Growing older is amazing.

There’s a wonderful freedom that comes with it. We start to feel more comfortable in our own skin, we care a little less about what other people think, and we blossom into the person we were always meant to be.

We can enjoy the wisdom that comes from everything we’ve lived through, the joy, the mistakes, the heartbreak, the ordinary days and the extraordinary ones. And I think that’s something worth celebrating.

But, here’s the thing that really p*sses me off…

There’s a whole industry built around the idea that getting older is something we need to fix.  The global anti-ageing industry is worth billions, selling us the promise of staying young through cosmetic products, supplements, and other cosmetic interventions.

This doesn’t mean caring about your appearance is wrong or shallow. I’m all for looking after yourself. But a woman’s currency doesn’t depend on how young and beautiful we are. We don’t have to stay young and pretty to have worth.

Ageing happens regardless of what we do. We do all age. We can’t stop it and we can’t outrun it.  So I’d rather embrace it.

Embracing it

While a cream might temporarily soften your wrinkles, it won’t address the much more interesting question:

How do you want your life to feel?

That’s the question I’m interested in.  Because none of us reach midlife untouched. We carry laughter lines, mastectomy scars, stretch marks, greying hair, stories and hard-earned wisdom.  All evidence that we’ve lived.

Growing older is less about trying to look like we aren’t ageing, and more about deciding what we want to do with all that life experience.

And that’s what Wild Alchemy is all about.

How it came to be

Origin of Wild Alchemy

After closing my business, I trained as a coach with the idea of working with female business owners.

As I developed my practice, I met so many women in midlife. Some loved where they were and were excited about their next chapter; but others were really struggling to work out what came next.

Gradually, I began to see common themes and ideas emerging. And I felt driven to bring my coaching skills and my own experience together to create something that felt properly meaningful.

I wanted to be a catalyst for change — helping women turn that feeling of ‘there must be more’ into their next great adventure.

Wild Alchemy is an invitation to join me on that adventure – a love letter to ‘women of a certain age‘.

It’s about sharing what I’ve learned and helping you see that you don’t have to settle for simply going through the motions while secretly wanting more.

I believe you have the power to make your next chapter one you truly fall in love with.

The heart of my coaching

And you know what? You already have the answers within you and my role is to help you unearth them.  Here’s four key foundations on which my coaching is based.

Follow your curiosity

Curiosity is a wonderful antidote to that feeling of nagging restlessness. The key is to get curious about yourself, get up close and personal with what you want and what matters to you. And see where that leads you.

Life is like dancing

When you’re dancing the idea isn’t just to reach the other side of the floor. You’re dancing for the joy of the music and the movement. And I believe the same holds true for life. A life worth living isn’t about focusing on end achievements; it’s about enjoying the twists and turns of ordinary everyday moments as they happen. Along the way

It’s in your hands

There comes a point when we have to take responsibility for creating the life we want. No one is coming to do it for us. A dream can spark hope but at some point, you need to take a step. Try something, see what happens; learn, adjust, and try again. And slowly, you realise you have more say in your next chapter than you thought.

It ripples outward

And no, it’s not selfish to do this. The changes we make in our own lives rarely stop with us. When we feel more fulfilled, more peaceful, and more comfortable in our own skin, the people around us feel it too. We influence each other all the time. It creates ripples.  And those positive ripples can reach much further than we imagine. When we do this, we give permission to the women coming after us to do it too. And so, the world becomes a better more interesting place.

A good fit?
